Federal High Court (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019 was unveiled by the Chief Judge on 5th July 2019.

 

Court of Appeal resolves the issue of seeking Attorney General’s consent with respect to funds belonging to a private institution or commercial banks but in custody of a public officer. In interpreting section 84 of the Sheriffs and Civil Process Act, the court held that what determines whether fund is a public fund is the status of who owns the money and not the status of the person in whose physical possession the money is kept.
