CHINWE CHIWETE

Principal

Chinwe Chiwete is the principal of Epic Legal. She is a seasoned legal practitioner with over 23 years of experience in corporate and commercial law, insolvency and restructuring, commercial litigation, and dispute resolution. She holds an LL.M in Insolvency Law from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

She has extensive experience in corporate insolvency and restructuring, including appointments as liquidator in several corporate insolvency matters and participation in corporate restructuring and business-rescue engagements. Her experience encompasses liquidation, corporate restructuring, business rescue, informal workouts, debt restructuring, creditor-related matters, and insolvency advisory services.

Chinwe previously worked with the National Consumer Tribunal in South Africa, where she gained substantial experience in debt restructuring and consumer protection. As Principal of EpicLegal Law Firm, she has advised clients on complex corporate and commercial transactions, insolvency proceedings, restructuring options and related dispute-resolution matters.

She is an accredited insolvency practitioner and a facilitator with the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN), where she contributes to the training of practitioners in corporate insolvency and the restructuring of financially distressed companies.

Chinwe is also a published author and has written and presented extensively on insolvency, business rescue, restructuring, cross-border insolvency, schemes of arrangement and related corporate law issues. Her professional focus includes the preservation and restructuring of viable businesses and the development of effective insolvency and business-rescue mechanisms.
