CHIWETE CHINWE is the principal of EpicLegal law firm. She heads the corporate and commercial law department of the Firm. She holds an LLM in Insolvency Law from the University of Pretoria South Africa and a certificate course in Financial Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
With over 20 years of active legal practice, she has rendered her expertise in various mergers and acquisitions, Insolvency matters, Corporate Restructuring, joint venture negotiations and project finance, and dispute resolution including high-profile arbitrations. She acquired her experience in debt restructuring and payment plans for over-indebted consumers from South Africa where she worked with National Consumer Tribunal, a tribunal that amongst others sanctions payment plan structures for over-indebted consumers in South Africa.
She is currently a facilitator with BRIPAN where she trains new members on corporate insolvency and rescue mechanisms. She has handled various insolvency-related matters and was appointed liquidator of many companies.
Chinwe is passionate about business rescue for viable businesses particularly small companies and individual debt payment plans for over-indebted consumers. She has published many articles on Insolvency law in national and international journals.
